Asthma (or Bronchial Asthma) simply is basically an inflammatory lung disease, that makes breathing difficult. Thus restrict one from doing many physical activities. Asthma is a respiratory disease and is happens when the lining of lungs that passes the air swell and the muscles around these linings become stiff. Remedy I

Mustard Oil-Home Remedy

Rub a mixture of camphor and mustard oil over your chest, it will give relief to Asthma. Use warm oil it will be more effective for the cure.

Remedy II

Eucalyptus oil can be used as a home remedy for Asthma. This is very strong oil and aal you have to do is take its steam with boiling water. Inhaling its steam will help you clear nasal blockages and will make breathing easy.

Remedy III

Figs-Home Remedy

Figs are also very effective against asthma. All you have to do is take dry figs and keep them in water overnight. In the morning drink that water and consume the figs. Figs are good for your health and will also help you in the treatment of Asthma.

Remedy IV

Ginger is very good for a person’s health. Take ginger and honey and consume them two or three times a day. It will help you fight from cough and it is a home remedy for asthma.

Remedy V

Introduce some coffee into your diet. Coffee can be used to treat asthma too. But do not exceed your dosage more than 2 cups a day it can be very harmful too.

Remedy VI

Omega 3-Home remedy

Omega-3 fatty acid serves various good purposes in your body. Omega-3 can cure heart diseases, depression, and asthma. Omega-3 is usually found in fish and chia seeds. But you can also consume them using supplements too.

Remedy VII

Always sit in upright position, try not to bend your back too much. Sitting in a well-postured position enables one to maintain the air flow through the lungs and thus one can avoid Asthma.

You can use these home remedies to keep asthma at its bay. All of them will surely help in the management of disease and will go with medication to cure it. Alongside these, there are some breathing exercises that you can do to cure it.

  1. Belly Breathing technique: Inhale from your nose and expand your stomach as you breathe and then exhale slowly with your belly pushing inward. It maximizes air distribution through the lungs.
  2. Pursed Lips Technique: This technique is used during attacks. Inhale by your nose very slowly and exhale through pursed lips. This helps a patient to breath during attacks.

WHOLESOME DIET: old brown rice, horse gram, rice gruel, garlic, tomato, eggplant, green beans, cucumber, Terminalia chebula, goat’s milk, honey, black pepper, lukewarm water, day time sleeping, carrots, idli, corn flakes, biscuits, warm drinks like tea-coffee-soup, bread sandwich, green leafy vegetables, pumpkin, spinach,  methi, salad, avocado, apple, mango, papaya, banana, turmeric, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin D, breathing exercises, walking, use of humidifier, eat frequent and small meals and take early dinner.

UNWHOLESOME DIET: deep fried, sour food/fruitschickpea flour, curd, potato, sweet potato, okra, mustard leaves, buffalo milk, ghee, fish, cold water/season, suppression of natural urges, excess physical/mental exertion,  avoid sleep for at least 2 hours after meal, jaggery, red chili, eggs, chickpea, bottled lemon/lime juice, dry fruits, peanuts, acidic fruits, carbonated beverages, salt.


Asthma is becoming common and more common every day.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 American child out of 12 has asthma and approximately 27 million Americans have asthma. This is happening because of increasing pollution. But there are many ways to avoid it too. You should stay out smoggy areas and if you are going their ensure that you are wearing a mask. Furthermore, do regular exercises and keep your body in motion because obesity is one of the major reason behind Asthma. But once one gets affected by it becomes really hard to cure it completely, these home remedies will surely help your child to keep it at bay. But we recommend to avoid it in any way possible. A child should get proper treatment for it because this disease necessarily needs medication and all of the above home remedies are supplementary. These remedies will definitely help but one should take precautions before this life-threatening disease catches him/her.
